keep it simple
This time of year lends itself to stress. It seems as though those small squares in your weekly, monthly planner fill up much quicker in December than any other month. There are more events, more errands, just more of everything. And, though all this "more" is incredibly fun and memorable; too much can equal overexertion. And overexertion can lead to exhaustion and exhaustion can lead to stress. That is why it is important to place an emphasis on simplicity from time to time, especially during the Holidays. My husband, Ben, is great at this. He reminds, maybe more often than he should, to just "keep it simple, dear." From my craziness of life currently to my winter style, it's good advice.
My monochromatic look and current mood while writing this post can best be described in three words: simple, husben-inspired (not a typo) and relaxed. Monochromatic dressing is an effortless way to rock some style. Pick pieces in the same color family and pair together. I typically wear like-colored pieces in an ombre format, from light on top fading to dark. For this look; however, I put my routine aside and reversed it. Mimicking my hair, I rocked this dark taupe hat, courtesy of Ben's pap, on top and gradually lightened all the way down to these comfy Aldo brogues. These brogues are reminiscent of Ben's wedding shoes. They provide an instant connection to an uncomplicated, beautiful time that was our wedding day. Breaking up the spectrum of taupe, an ivory handmade scarf is wrapped around my hair and a rich plum color highlighted on my lips. Simple as that.

Keep it simple, dears.
