juju: the brick + mortar debut
Let's take a walk down vintage memory lane: the sequin cropped jacket dancing in the light, the all over olive velvet overalls, a jacket with intense shoulder pads and golden embroidery of pumas (revealed in time, it's worth the wait). All these one-of-a-kind pieces have one thing in common: juju. Raving about Leslie, the creative force behind juju, and her carefully crafted collection is nothing new. A lover of vintage since the age of twelve, Leslie left the comfort of corporate life to pursue path that was always laid before her, just not yet traveled. Until now. Her endless knowledge about reincarnating clothing, her infectious positive energy, her one-of-kind, multifarious style, these are just a few of the qualities that make Leslie a gentle, yet power creative. This list only grows with each encounter. Taking on the role of a proud, beaming friend, I am beyond thrilled to announce juju is going brick and mortar. It's all happening, Leslie.
My excitement cannot be contained nor will it be silenced! Located on the quaint Reynolds Street in Point Breeze, Leslie is sharing more than her expert eye for vintage. Think insightful tarot readings by the wonder woman herself, all-natural mystical and wellness products, too cute stationary with powerful words, housewares already equipped with backstories, and inspiration erupting from every inch of the 500 square foot space. It is a playground for your body, mind, style and spirit.
Leslie graciously invited me into her working space and I now share with you a sneak peek. Enjoy this little taste of vintage bliss along with other must-have goods from across the country. And, be sure to clear your calendar on March 19th for the grand opening event!
Juju will offer The Wild Unknown tarot deck (pictured above.) This beautifully and thoughtfully illustrated tarot deck, created by the talents of Kim Krans, is Leslie's personal go-to for readings. It has served her and others well. Thus, she wants to spread the love to Pittsburgh by allowing us to discover our inner Wild Unknown.
Spirit Speak tarot decks will also be gracing this space with their presence.
Worthwhile Paper stationary, a collection of screen-printed paper goods made with earth-friendly materials in the USA, will find a comfy home within juju's arms.
With the goal of bringing the healing power of crystals into every day life, Wild Medicine soaps will made readily available. Set aside the cleansing benefits of crystals and stones, these soaps are the adult version of finding a toy in your favorite cereal box: a crystal encapsulated at the end of use. Count me in!
As mentioned above, << Saturday, March 19th is the day! >> Juju, along with her neighbor Hatch Art Studio, will be hosting a combined grand opening from 11am until 4pm! Hop back and forth between the two locations swooning over Juju's vintage collection and housewares then creating your own mini painting at Hatch Art Studio. For more information, click here.
