an imperfect masterpiece
I want this path to feed and nourish every facet of myself, even if those facets don't make sense...
The above sentence is from my first post back in May. Caution: about to pat myself on the back here, but that group of words is one of my favorites written to date. I am such an oxymoron, always have been. I have written this multiple times and it's the truth. What is normally not lumped together, I blend. What is not often partnered, I pair. Hobbies, likes, loves, that are typically opposite, attract in my case. The thrill of watching an overtime college basketball game deep in March Madness resides on the same level as Fashion Week or the latest issue of Vogue. My house tidy and the dishes put away each night is a must, but I love my hair wild, messy and untamed. I quietly jam to classic rock on vinyl in the morning, hop in my car and dance crazily to the latest EDM throughout my travels during the day, and close my eyes to indie folk at night. I love to plan and organize. Oh how I love to organize! But, then again, there is nothing quite like a spontaneous road trip to free the soul. The list is numberless.
When Tristyn sent me the final product of these remarkable images, I lost my breath. I hope you do too! I was in awe of her talent in double exposure photography. Observing her create these images of myself and my stunning friend, Sarah (aka G), was simply impressive. When my breathing rhythm was stabilized, I was reminded of all the contradictions that blend together to make me who I am. We all have contradictions to embrace. These things/quirks/qualities when separated may not look like they should fit, but when blended create an imperfect masterpiece. Thank you, Tristyn, for this beautiful reminder.
Check out Tristyn's passion on display + give some love to my gal!
Shout out to my girl, G, for showing her support + love during this photo shoot. It meant so much that you wanted to witness what I have been diving into the past few months. You are beautiful and the most perfect spontaneous model!
